Map: Click here
Take the A3 out of London to the M25. Go on to the M25 towards the M3, which is westwards. At Junction 12 of the M23 go onto the M3 towards Camberley and Basingstoke. Stay on M3 until Junction 6. Follow signs for Basingstoke, and pick up signs for City Centre (there are quite a lot of roundabouts!) Follow city centre signs until you pick up signs for Overton/Whitchurch B3400 and then follow those. Eventually on the B3400 you will come to countryside. Keep on the B3400, passing through Newfound, where there is a 40 mph speed limit. Beyond Newfound take the first road on your right, which is a little crossroads with the B3400 having right of way. There is a signpost to Malshanger. Follow the lane, through an avenue of trees, down a little hill, at the bottom of which is a barred gate and a lodge house. Follow the road round to the left, past 2 fields on your left, and Summerdown Yard is the first building you come to on your left....a single story, brick built, converted cow shed! Drive in just before the house, and follow the drive round, turning in, keeping the big wooden barn on your left as you turn, to a barred gate, through to a courtyard garden. The pale greeny blue front door is right ahead of you, key under the pot on the right of the door!
Bedrooms If you could strip any beds you use of our stuff and remake it before you go that would be great. We often end up going down very late at night and tumble straight into bed!
Bed linen and Towels Please bring your own. Most beds have duvets although there are two beds with sheets and blankets.
There is a file to the left of the desk in the room off the kitchen if you need to look anything up...there are some maps there and in one of the drawers of the desk. Also there is a framed map of the estate, not yet hung up (!) in the kitchen, with footpaths marked.
Recycling: Paper, card, foil, tins, cans, plastic bottles go in grey plastic bin in kitchen, and then into green wheelie bin outside gate. Glass goes in white plastic boxes and we take to the botle bank every so often.
Shops:
Oakley: 5mins car journey. Back up the avenue of trees to B3400 and straight over into Station Road, turning right at the T junction at the end of the road, past church on right and pond on left, then turn to the left just before the second pond, leads to Oakley and basic One Stop store and chemist.
Overton: 10 min car journey. Back up avenue of trees and turn right onto the B3400 takes you to Overton where there is a very good Butcher, baker, co-op, chemist etc.
